MorioAn elegant, contemporary take on Japanese fine dining with international flair, Morio is open for lunch and dinner.

The mood is a casual blend of understated glamour and low-key opulence. 1960s-inspired design with red velvet swing sofas is accented with Chinese touches.
Complementing attentive 24-hour room service with high-speed wireless internet, iPod docking and plasma TV with multi-international channels.
Hotel G
With a striking entrance and façade which transforms into an explosion of coloured lights by night (hotel guests can actually select their own window lighting), the 110-room hotel opens in May in Gong Ti Xi Lu – neighbouring a host of popular eateries and nightspots including the ultra chic Green T. House.
Hotel G Beijing is the first of an exclusive boutique hotel brand launched by Hong Kong-based real estate private equity management firm Gateway Capital – and a model to be rolled out only in selected cities of China and Asia.
Gateway capital is headed by real estate entrepreneur Goodwin Gaw who is renowned for the recent US$24 million restoration of the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles to its former glory. His company also owns a portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts in North America and Asia. Commenting on the launch of Hotel G Beijing, developer Goodwin Gaw, Chairman and Managing Principal of Gateway Capital said, “Our philosophy is to create a hotel that is both memorable and inviting.“
“The concept is stylish and comfortable, with outstanding design in a seemingly casual blend of understated glamour and low key opulence, offering fashionable restaurants and bars, and the friendly, personalised service we like to offer our guests.”
A conversion of an existing building, Hotel G has been created by talented British architect/designer Mark Lintott who is well known for his daring and innovative interior design projects, notably of leading entertainment venues, in his adopted Taiwan.
The sense of theatre starts at the lobby of Hotel G. Here warm red sandstone walls and a central column finished in stitched leather are grandly reminiscent of a Bentley or Aston Martin interior, yet inviting to the touch.
As a backdrop, a glass wall features a dense tangle of gently pulsing fibre optic lights which frame the elevator doors and transforms the overall atmosphere from day to night.
Hotel G’s 110 rooms are all generous in scale. They range from the standard room to a series of super deluxe, loft-style suites with raised bed area and a large bathroom complete with free standing tub.
Mark Lintott has created a series of stylish sixties-inspired designs in muted blues and greys highlighted with lacquered colour and abstract traditional Chinese details in the modern furnishings.
For dining and entertainment, Hotel G offers three distinctly different venues to attract the capital’s ‘smart set’.
Leading from the lobby is the bar and restaurant 25 Degrees named after the original at the famous Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard founded by Mr. Tim Goodell, which is renowned for its “Bordello Meets Burger Bar” design and some of the best burgers in Los Angeles
‘25 Degrees’ is ideal for parties and as a glamorous meeting place where guests can sip a cocktail at the long red, Murano mirror tiled bar or relax in one of its oversized leather winged-chairs and enjoy variations of the great American burger, as well as popular Chinese and Asian specialties.
A venue which will introduce an entirely novel concept to Beijing, is a split-level rooftop restaurant and lounge/bar on the 8th and 10th floors serving Mediterranean cuisine with a Tibetan twist – complete with a Tibetan-style tent and open fireplace.
Gilt as the space will be named, has been designed by Morocco-based French Algerian designer Imaad Rahmouni, a protégé of world-famous style icon, Philippe Starck.
A fine-dining Japanese restaurant Morio will be independently operated by well-established Japanese chef, Mr. Morio Sakayori, who enjoys a loyal following of Japanese food lovers in Beijing and who will present his own innovative, nouveau style of cuisine at Hotel G.
An oasis of relaxation in the heart of China’s capital, the 5th floor roof terrace will be a private ‘urban retreat’ for the exclusive use of hotel guests, with a beautiful garden, outdoor Jacuzzis, sun loungers and a gymnasium. A fully serviced business centre is also located here.
Underlining Hotel G’s design focus, celebrated young Chinese fashion designer Han Feng, acclaimed for her spectacular costumes for Madame Butterfly at The Met in New York, has styled the staff uniforms.
“Hotel G will perfectly complement one of the world’s most vibrant cities and appeal to a fashionable crowd of young professionals and local celebrities,” said Goodwin Gaw.
“We will be rolling-out the new hotel brand across China and the region in due course.”
